Overview
Description
This course introduces students to the concepts central to the practice of professional nursing. It gives students the opportunity to understand the conceptual model of a Curry College baccalaureate nursing education. Major concepts include: team work and communication, evidence for nursing practice, nursing informatics, safety and quality of care. Additional concepts that provide the foundation for professional practice such as diversity, decision making, critical thinking, environment and nurse sensitive indicators of care are also included. Various nursing roles are introduced. Prerequisites: BIOL 1075, BIOL 1175, BIOL 1085, BIOL 1185, CHEM 1001 and CHEM 1002.Corequisites: NSG 2000, NSG 2012 and NSG 2200.
