Description
This course examines the etiology of bias motivated crimes, characteristics and the social ecology that nurtures its existence and persistence. In addition, the course will discuss: various sociological and ciminological theories in an attempt to understand the etiology of the violent behavior, its consequences on individual, groups and community; the evolution of bias crime laws and policy in the United States; and the social justice aspect of the topic.Prerequisites: Any 2000- level Criminal Justice course.
